The Dustkiller® is a high-efficiency, two-stage electrostatic precipitator, that is designed to achieve a high level of dust control in any enclosed area, capturing the dust even before it can settle down on sensitive precision equipment.
The working principle of the Dustkiller®
The centrifugal blower at the top pulls dust and small particles into the air stream, which pass through the prefilter, where bigger particles are first eliminated. The remaining smaller particles subsequently move into the electrostatic modules, where they are given a strong positive charge between a number of parallel aluminium plates, after which they are passed through a second set of negatively charged aluminium plates. Similar to how iron filings are drawn to a magnet, the particles here are attracted to the oppositely charged aluminium plates, but with one important distinction that the particles stay adhered to the plates even when the electrostatic filter is turned off. The outlet allows the clean air, which is now free of any remaining particles, to exit. The postfilter, along with even distribution of air movement through the electrostatic module, when packed with activated carbon granules, it also reduces odour and smell. The unique features of the Dustkiller®
- High dust capture efficiency is offered
- All filter modules can be cleaned and reused numerous times over the course of the equipment’s life
- When compared to typical mechanical filters, maintenance and operating costs are very low
- High voltage fault trip circuitry is one of the safety elements incorporated into the system to ensure reliability, safety, and effectiveness.
The applications
Any closed room, preferably, but not necessarily equipped with window/split type air conditioners, can be treated with the Dustkiller® to control dust and fine particles. Without requiring significant alterations to the current space, the Dustkiller® can be swiftly implemented in the following applications –- Standard rooms
- Electronic laboratories
- Metrology laboratories
- Bio-tech laboratories
- Pharmaceuticals
- Mechanical precision assembly areas
